We want to embrace childlike wonder and an appreciation for the world around us with our Spring 2027 issue, Wonder. This issue should be filled with the delights of spring, especially those that might typically go overlooked. Ladybugs on clover, flower crowns, luxurious puffy clouds, and rain boots splashing in puddles could all find a home in this edition of Cut+Paste.

We’d love to see photographers make good use of light—rays of sunlight streaming through new leaves and shadow puppets outlined by the golden-hour sun. Photographers can also put their observational skills into practice to find little pieces of magic—bubbles from washing dishes, mushroom fairy rings, crystal-clear puddle reflections—existing in the world around them. Artists can work pops of playful spring color into their paintings, use expressive brushstrokes and textures, and focus on concepts that evoke childhood nostalgia, such as miniature tea parties, dandelions, and tricycles. In design, we’d love to see the playful, springy feel of this issue reflected in puffy and hand-drawn fonts, scallops and doodle accents, and simple elements that still bring delight, like wonky star shapes and smiley faces.
